I am a visual artist from Chicago, who now resides in southwest Michigan.
I received a Bachelor of Art degree at the University of Chicago, and a Master of Fine Art degree at the University of Minnesota. I studied for two years at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and spent a year of independent study in film theory at Princeton University.
My work can be seen in the Chicagoland area at Zia Gallery in Winnetka, IL on Chicago's North Shore. Some can also be purchased through Zia Gallery online via Amazon.com. My work can also be seen at Red Door Gallery in Ludington, Michigan.
Besides many galleries in the U.S, my work has been exhibited in Florence, Italy and in Columbia, South America. My paintings have been featured in Newsweek magazine's internet art gallery. Other publications where my work have been seen include The Chicago Art Scene, Suite Home Chicago, The American Art Collector, and The Artful Home.
I work with a variety of materials and enjoy exploring various ways to interpret aspects of the natural world. Via abstraction, mingled with figurative elements, my work embraces the organic elements that surround us. Accident and intent are involved when I apply paint to a work.
Regarding some of the top tabs:
Work on Paper: These works vary in size from 8" x 10" to 30" x40". Most incorporate a variety of mediums such as watercolor, ink, acrylic, crayon, and pencil. Some also include printing fragments of original photos on watercolor paper as a first layer, onto which other mediums are applied.
More Paintings: This page gives the viewer a taste of some past works, each one representing a larger body of work that I was involved in at that time. Some of these are sold, while others, as well as some not shown on this site, are still available. If a sold work interests you, please inquire as to whether a work similar in feel may be available.
Some of the art on this website can be purchased and shipped through me, while other works should be obtained through the gallery that has the work.
